IIMA TEAM WINS MADRID GLOBAL
MARKETING COMPETITION A team from IIM Ahmedabad won the 16th edition of the Global Marketing Competition, an international contest organised by the ESIC Business and Marketing School, Madrid. The team consisting of Parampreet Singh Bhasin, Varsha Verma and Parimal Lokhande won a Master Specialised from ESIC and a prize money of 12,000 euros. The competition that was conducted over a three month period witnessed participation from 4100 university students. The competition required participants to test their knowledge and skills in a business simulated environment. Out of 1300 teams that initially participated, 36 qualified for the semifinals. Six of them moved into the final. The final was held in Madrid in mid-July and the teams had to defend their business plans in front of a professional jury. The other five teams in the final were Catholic University of Peru, Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad, Moscow Bauman Sate University of Russia, the Pacific University of Peru and the Sakarya University of Istanbul in Turkey.
