Fortnightly course for execs at IIM Ranchi

The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM-R) has some good news for working executives in Jharkhand who are planning to pursue MBA but cannot move out of the state. The institute has decided to start a post-graduate programme for working executives. The first session of the 18-month programme will start from September.

Director of IIM-R, M J Xavier, said there was huge demand for the course from different sectors. After preparing the course module it was put before the governing body for approval. "The governing board approved of the course and it was decided that each batch would have 40 candidates," said Xavier.

The course has been designed with an eye on demand in different industries, especially those working in the state. "We were getting requests from companies like the Central Coalfields Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited and Heavy Engineering Corporation," said Xavier.
