New IIMs add about 500 seats; odds improve for CAT aspirants ; Creating A 'Win-Win' Situation
More the merrier is the mantra for the MBA aspirants when it comes to the number of IIMs. The prestigious institute is the aim for every MBA aspirant to get in. Since the last two years, India has seen the launch of six new IIMs which has raised the hope even more amongst the MBA aspirants. The year 2010 saw the inception of three new IIM Rs, IIM Ranchi, Rohtak and Raipur. The present academic year has seen the launch of three more IIMs in Trichy, Udaipur and Kashipur.
The nascent IIMs start with a reasonably less number of seats which increases from the subsequent years. The reason being, in the initial years, the physical and intellectual infrastructure is not competent enough to accommodate the batch of large number of students. But with the increasing number of seats, you can be assured that if you are really worth it, you will get it.
